‘Touching Air’ Necklaces

Added to the Museum of Data by Maggie Appleton on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Museum of Data Collection ID: 433.

Public description: 'Touching Air' is a set of three perspex necklaces. The texture, colour, and size of the shapes in each necklace correlate to data about the density of large participle levels (PM10) in the Sheffield area over three weeks in 2014. The larger and spikier segments of the necklace indicate higher particle matter levels and suggest a heightened risk to the hearts and lungs of people in Sheffield at that time.
