Added to the Museum of Data by Sophie Dommermuth on Monday, November 14, 2022. Museum of Data Collection ID: 1302.
Public description: Every Noise at Once is a project cataloguing as many different subtypes of music on Spotify as possible, and mapping them in relation to each other given their similar listeners and genre characteristics. This project has taken on a mass amount of data from countless musicians and listeners, it's both big data and a work of art reflecting other works of art.
Materials used: Data from Spotify, accessible sound, color, discovery settings, search functions.
Credit: Glenn McDonald has full credit as far as I can tell.
Language: English
Size: Every Noise at Once is absolutely massive. The project takes on quite literally every genre of music possible, there are 5,980 currently listed as of November 12th 2022. The dimensions only exist within Spotify itself, but the depth and breadth of information which has been taken in to create this piece is genuinely incomprehensible.
